Latest News on Performance Programme - Player Pathway
JudoScotland will shortly be launching the next phase of its Performance Programme player pathway. In recent months the emphasis for the organisation has centred around the identification, selection and induction of athletes onto the Performance Delivery and Performance Development strands of the Performance Programme. JudoScotland is pleased to announce that this process now been completed and the athletes selected are currently fully involved in their preparations for the forthcoming season of competitions and events.
With the Performance Delivery and Performance Development programmes specifically designed to support JudoScotlands senior and top junior athletes, the next phase of development within the Performance Pathway will be the establishment of the Talent Development Programme. This exciting project is designed to identify, support and develop younger judoka with aspirations of moving through the Performance Pathway and ultimately achieving success on the world stage. Judo Scotland, through submission and acceptance of the Performance Plan to our funding partner Sportscotland, have been successful in securing funding to resource a new post within the organisation with the responsibility of establishing and co-ordinating this important foundation phase. Recruitment for the position of Talent Development Coach is underway and it is anticipated that the successful coach will be in place shortly.
In preparation for the start of the new Talent Development Programme, JudoScotland invited young judoka to apply via the online registration process and the response has been excellent. It is anticipated that once the new Talent Development Coach is in place, the final selections onto Talent Development Programme will take place and all applicants informed of the outcomes. If any aspiring Performance Programme judoka has not already applied there is still time to do so, as the online application forms are still available on the JudoScotland website at JudoScotland.com.
