Conversion from Kai to Mon grades is at the discretion of the coach. Players may be converted according to the table above or at a lower grade, however they may not be graded above the recommendations.

Conversion To the Kyu grade syllabus

Judoka of 14 years of age and above who hold a Junior Mon grade may, if they wish convert to the senior grade system. The following table will be used for all Mon grade conversions. Judoka holding a Junior Mon grade will be converted to the senior on reaching 16 years of age.
