Highland Budokan Announced as Host for 2017 JudoScotland Grand Prix

Posted: 17/05/2017

Following on from a successful tender process earlier in the year, it is with great pleasure that we can announce Highland Budokan as the first successful tender to host one of the 2018 - 2020 JudoScotland Grand Prix Series.

The Grand Prix Series is just one stage of the JudoScotland development pathway, for both competitor and our volunteer workforce, playing a key role to support individuals as they strive to reach their potential. The series has become an integral part to the JudoScotland events calendar with many of the competitions in the series selling out well before their closing date.

Keir Smith - Club Chair commented “Entering a tender for the Grand Prix events was a simple decision for Highland Budokan, as hosting a JudoScotland Grand Prix is hugely important to the Club, as they act as a showcase Judo event for the Highlands, which encourages Judoka from all over Scotland to visit the area and also gives local Judoka a high class event on their door step.  We are looking forward to hosting Grand Prix events from 2018-2020 and building on the Grand Prix’s we have been hosting since 2012”
