International Women’s DayPosted: 08/03/2017
As today is International Women’s day we wanted to celebrate female participation in our great sport! From our Olympic Medal Winning Brand ambassador Sally Conway to our clubs there are over 2,000 females participating in Judo-in-Scotland.
Judo is not just a fantastic sport, but a great way to get fit, improve balance and learn self-defence skills, how many sports can claim that?
Our amazing elite female athletes are an inspiration for not just those in the sport but the wider public as well, with Judo having a moral code at its core, our athletes are true role models.
But don’t just take our word for it here is what our Judo Girls Rock Initiative have to say about Judo:
Judo Girls Rock
“I think Judo is a great place and I like Judo Girls Rock because it shows that girls and boys are all equal. I used to be told boys were better at sports than me, they're not. I recommend it for other girls and I enjoyed making new friends and meeting new people. I love Judo it showed me to believe in my dreams. Judo is a great place because girls do rock!” Amber, Judo Girls Rock
“I used to think boys were better at every single sport in the world, but when I went to judo I found out that girls are just as good. When I am older I want to be a professional Judo Player” Maddison, Judo Girls Rock
