It wasn’t just the turn of the Scottish Judoka this weekend at the British Championships, this weekend saw a number of promotions of the JudoScotland volunteer workforce.
The event saw Elizabeth-Anne McGinty being promoted to Competition Controller. Competition Controller is the highest level of officiating offered by British Judo with the training only being offered to a small number of selected candidates on a yearly basis by the BJA. Becoming a Competition Controller will allow Elizabeth-Anne to run lead on competitions, a truly remarkable achievement.
Paul Grady received the promotion to National A referee, The National A Referee award is the fifth level of refereeing qualification awarded by British Judo and is the highest technical refereeing level that British Judo award. Paul has worked tirelessly through the various levels to reach this stage, showing incredible determination to the role.
This weekend also saw James McBeath being selected to represent BJA at the IJF B (CONTINENTAL) examination, an incredible honour.
