SUMMARY:Scottish Masters Judo Session
DESCRIPTION:Rick Kenney (OBE) 8th Dan will be leading the Masters Training Sessions for the remainder of 2022. \n\nRick has over 50 years in Judo and is currently the President Of The Commonwealth Judo Association as well as holding the position of Honorary Vice President of JudoScotland. \nAssisting Rick will be Jim Feenan 6th Dan\, between them they bring a great wealth of knowledge to the sessions. \nAs with previous sessions\, we will be following the usual format\, coaching for around an hour followed by randori for the rest of the time for those who are up for it. £5 mat fee. \n\nThese sessions are open to all players 29 years and above regardless of ability\, gender\, experience or grade\, everyone can take something away from these sessions. \nAll session participants are expected to be valid JudoScotland or BJA members and should check that their membership is valid before attending. \nMasters should arrive 15 mins before the session start time and be changed and ready (strapping applied etc) 5 mins before session start time. Changing facilities at the EICA are available and can be found on Level 2 of the building (Dojo is on Level 4) \n*The IFSC Climbing World Cup will also be taking place at Ratho at the same time. Please allow extra time to travel/park and please state that you are at the venue to visit JudoScotland at the ticket/security checkpoints.

DESCRIPTION:Rio was the venue for one of the biggest upsets in modern Olympic Judo with relatively unknown judoka Fabio Basile having the day of his dreams. \nAfter winning Gold in the under 66kg category in Rio\, Fabio moved up to the 73kg and now chases his dream of being a 2 weight division Olympic Champion. \nFabio has kindly agreed to take time out of his preparations for the upcoming world championships to share his judo with Scottish judoka here in Aberdeen. \nThe session will have a morning slot for children and an afternoon session for teens and adults. DESCRIPTION:Our only Level 2 course of 2022 will be in the west on the 6th & 7th of August and 3rd & 4th of September 2022 with assessment completed remotely/video by 4th November 2022. Please ensure when signing up for this course you are able to attend all of the dates shown above.\n\n\nThis year the course will be residential at Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre. You will be provided with lunch and dinner on the Saturday overnight accommodation on a twin sharing basis and on Sunday breakfast and lunch. SUMMARY:Nage no Kata Course
DESCRIPTION:Our Nage no Kata course will be run by Alex Reid 6th Dan & Paul Laverty 4th Dan who are BJA Kata examiners and previously World Kata finalists. Using their extensive knowledge of Kata they will take you through the course in a way that will provide you with a deeper understanding of the content for you to either develop further yourself or pass on to your students within the club. \nOpportunities to obtain a Kata qualification will be discussed on the course and exams will be held within national gradings. \nThis course is suitable as a coach revalidation event and also for any judoka wishing to improve their understanding of judo principles.
