JudoScotland Partnership with Working With Parents in Sport (WWPIS)

JudoScotland are excited to announce that work has now started with Working with Parents in Sport (WWPIS) to establish a long-term, mutual relationship, on which to develop an outstanding suite of resources to support the parent of a judoka to augment the sporting experience for their child.

The current development focusses on a suite of bespoke resources, parent workshops - including webinars - and these will be launched over the coming months as JudoScotland member clubs return to judo activity.

The role of the parent within sport – including Judo - has always been incredibly important and valuable, however we have not previously been in a position to provide the essential supporting resources to underpin these contributions. With JudoScotland now partnering with WWPIS, this relationship has now created the possibility and we are confident that with the vast experience and knowledge of WWPIS within this area, we will soon be in a position to extend significant support to parents and significantly impact on the judo experience of our young members.

Ronnie Saez, JudoScotland Chairman, reflected that: “Parents do an absolutely amazing job in supporting their children’s sporting endeavours. Myself and JudoScotland are proud to be at the forefront of developing and providing specific assistance and support to these members of the wider Judo family.

Once launched, the resources will be available to all parents of young judoka in membership of JudoScotland, providing practical hints, tips, guidance, support and advice to maximise the opportunities for the holistic development of their children whilst they take part in the sport of Judo here in Scotland.

Gordon MacLelland, WWPIS CEO added “We are extremely excited about this partnership and working with an organisation which align so perfectly with our core values.

The future is bright and building a long term sustainable project to benefit all stakeholders is an exciting vision to be part of.”
