JudoScotland: Talent Development Selection Criteria and Process (2021)

Posted: 23/11/2020

Alongside our members, we are keen to resume Judo-in-Scotland as soon as we are able to, within the guidance issued by the Scottish Government.

In common with some of our member Clubs, our Talent Development Programme has yet to be able to resume activity at this point in time – particularly so within the current Tier/Level 4 situation affecting both sport and travel across large areas of the Scottish population. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the country, we have had to adapt our criteria and selection processes for 2021.

Our priority at this time is to ensure that players, coaches, staff and families are kept as safe as possible - but we are hopeful that the current situation will improve as we move forward into the new year. To that end, please click HERE for a revised Talent Development Programme (TDP) selection criteria for 2021 for your information and potential action.

Please note that due to the extraordinary situation that we collectively find ourselves in, all 2020 TDP Squad Players will automatically be selected for the 2021 TDP Squad. The documentation also highlights the opportunity for club coaches to nominate players to be considered for co-option onto the programme, recognising the lack of competitive opportunities during 2020.
