Scottish Government: Route Map (Phase 2)
Many members will have heard the First Minister yesterday outline the first steps into phase 2 of the Scottish Government’s ‘route map’ out of lockdown.
JudoScotland welcomes the First Minister’s announcement in terms of the initial move through to the next phase of the route map process and also one step closer to judoka being able to be back on the tatami.
Recognising the progression by the Scottish Government yesterday, JudoScotland Chairman, Ronnie Saez added that:
“At the present time public health and wellbeing remains the most important priority for all of us. The announcement yesterday was not a return to sport - but rather a further relaxation of the previous exercise guidelines. This underlines the Scottish Government’s view of the undoubted positives that sport and physical activity brings in terms of physical health, mental health and wellbeing.
We continue to work with Scottish Government, sportscotland and other Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport to progress plans for the return of sport – including Judo - when it is safe to do so, as part of future phases of the route map.”
JudoScotland are committed to considering the full details of the First Minister’s announcement and to produce a guidance document for Judo around Phase 2 of the Scottish Government’s route map.
