Louise Renicks Announces RetirementPosted: 15/07/2015
JudoScotland would like to confirm the retirement of one our top athletes Louise Renicks. After 18 years and a spectacular Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Louise has decided to retire from elite Judo at the age of 32.
Louise has been a member of the national squad since she was 14 and has competed at a national and international level throughout her career. One of her most spectacular performances was at last summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she won Gold against England’s Kelly Edwards in the -52kg category.
Louise comments “Being able to compete at the Commonwealth Games, going through the journey; getting there, being there and the after effect has been something like a rollercoaster.”
“Having the support network that the programme (JudoScotland) provides, has helped me grow as a person and as an elite athlete.”
Louise has been a valued athlete here at JudoScotland and we would like to wish her the best of luck in all her future endeavours.
