Sarah Adlington’s Olympic Debut Ended With Defeat From Nihel Cheikh RouhouPosted: 30/07/2021
A tough Olympic debut for JudoScotland’s Sarah Adlington as she is defeated by Nihel Cheikh Rouhou of Tunisia in the opening round of the games. A tough contestant, Cheikh Rouhou ultimately won by decisive ippon via a drop Seoi Nage technique into Osaekomi.
Having competed at national, continental, commonwealth and world levels throughout her career, Tokyo marked Sarah’s first Olympic Games. Sarah has battled through a challenging Olympic qualification period due to the current pandemic with training interrupted and competitions cancelled.
Sarah was the final of six GB athletes to compete at the Tokyo Games and we are so proud of her achievements.
