Scottish Judoka Heads to Cologne for the Inaugural ID World Championship

Posted: 19/10/2017

Scottish Judoka Christopher Murphy (Shettleston Judo Club) heads out to Cologne, Germany as part of Team GB, for the first World Championships for judoka with an intellectual disability.

The German Judo Federation, which hosts an annual IJF World Judo Tour Grand Prix in Dusseldorf, will host the four-day competition which has the backing of the IJF and INAS (International Association of Sport for Para Athletes with an intellectual disability). This is an excellent step towards making judo a truly equitable sport.

Scottish Coach Jo Imrie will also be heading out as a member of the GB Coaching Team for the event, providing vital coaching support for the Judoka.

JudoScotland would like to take the opportunity to wish all British Judoka competing good luck.
