Success Story: The First Online Trained Competition Recorders Graduate

Posted: 20/07/2021

JudoScotland has made history by successfully delivering its first-ever online qualification course for Competition Recorders. Run over three Wednesday evenings, the course was held as a test event in place of the usual intense one-day ‘in-person’ course, to upskill the JudoScotland volunteer workforce during the current pandemic.

Although Covid -19 shaped the delivery of this course, participants commented that it was the "way forward" for this type of training. The traditional way of delivering competition recorder training can be a barrier to some looking to progress their judo journey as they are unable to travel and attend a full-day course. The online course is delivered in a modular format allowing candidates to get involved and stay engaged.

Congratulations to the pioneering candidates who have now qualified as Competition Recorders:

Kirsty McNealis- Judo Club Esprit

Erin Peden – Clyde Judo Club

Emma Imrie-Herd – Jidel Judo 93

Maxwell Alder – Dumfries Judo Academy

Christopher Lambert – Jidel Judo 93

Colin Dunlop – Dynamic Judo

Katherine Allan – Jidel Judo 93
