The role will include, but will not be limited to:

·         Frontline Customer/Membership Services;

·         Administrative Support;

·         Financial Processing;

·         Business Monitoring.

JudoScotland are looking for an Independent Non-Executive Director (Marketing) to contribute to the effectiveness of the Board in its task of setting and implementing the direction and strategy of Judo-in-Scotland. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding leadership and governance for JS, a leading Scottish Governing Body of Sport (SGB).

As a member of the Board, you are expected to act as a representative of the company, which will involve the presentation of JS aims, aspirations and policies to the JS membership and other stakeholders. You will effectively contribute to Board meetings, the Annual General Meeting and any other general meetings.

You will work effectively with fellow Board members and the JS Leadership Team to strategically plan the work of JS and to play an active and appropriate role in monitoring progress and achievements.

The Opportunity:

This is a significant opportunity for someone with a passion for sport and presents wonderful potential for the development of new/existing skills, meeting new people and new networks and making a genuine difference to sport in Scotland. As a Board member, you will help to shape the future of Judo-in-Scotland. The successful individual will also gain expertise of supporting and advising a small but dynamic Board.

Time Commitment:

The JS Board meet between 6 and 8 occasions annually, with Board meetings normally scheduled in the evening. Board members are also expected to chair/contribute to sub-Board Working Groups and this specific position will be expected to chair and lead the newly identified ‘Marketing’ Working Group. Representation/attendance at selected JS-staged events would also be encouraged.
