OH YES \nWe are back with a bang with this year’s Gathering which promises to be one of our very best. We have had some of the judo greats in world judo\, Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki\, Hidetoshi Nakanishi\, Darcel Yandzi\, Go Tsunoda\, Tomoko Fukumi and Hiroshi Katanishi. We haven’t even mentioned any of the homegrown talents we have had on the mat such as Loretta\, Chloe\, Euan\, Graeme\, Stuart\, and the list goes on and on and on. \nThis year we have the pleasure of welcoming to Scotland Three-time World Champion\, Double Olympic medalist\, Five-time All Japan Champion\, Grand Slam Champion in Paris\, Tokyo & Osaka and Grand Prix Champion in Dusseldorf (twice) and in Abu Dhabi and this is only the gold medals!! MASASHI EBINUMA. \nMasashi will be joined on the mat by his wife Kana (Abe) Ebinuma who is two time World Team Champion\, two time All Japan Champion\, three times Grand Slam Champion and IJF World Masters Champion. \nWe are also delighted to be in a position to be able to welcome back Britain’s most highly decorated male competitor\, ‘The Voice of Judo’ Mr Neil Adams MBE 9th Dan. Neil has been working with a select group of coaches throughout the year in our first-ever JudoScotland Coach Academy. Neil will be back on the mat sharing some of his golden nuggets for you to take away over the weekend. \nGreg Valentine\, as the lead physical preparation coach for JudoScotland and the sportscotland institute of sport. Greg will be leading a session on the exercises and techniques that coaches need to know to prepare athletes for their journey into performance judo. Based on years of research and experience Greg will take us through the physical components of the brand new JudoScotland Blueprint\, the Player Development Pathway. \nFollowing on from his successful session in 2021 we are welcoming back Dr Andy Dalziell\, Andy is a child development specialist\, he co-designed the Better Movers & Thinkers programme that Education Scotland have embedded within their physical education programmes. Andy will be taking us on a practical follow-up to his interesting online session\, so be prepared to be challenged and have your brain engaged so you can take some new thinking away on your approach to teaching children. \nIf you sign up for the full weekend you will receive overnight accommodation within a twin room\, lunch\, evening meal on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday as well as some top-class judo. If you can only make it along for one day\, please choose one of our day passes; on Saturday this includes lunch. Any judoka over 14 but under 18 can take advantage of the non-residential weekend pass or day passes\, if you want to book the full residential you must be accompanied and be responsible to a full paying adult\, for example\, your coach. This is due to alcohol being available during the evening meal for those aged 18 years and above. \nDue to the popularity of this event\, we have now sold out of residential spaces\, however\, we still have a limited number of weekend and day tickets available. Largs has a number of local offsite accommodation options so that you can still make the most of The Gathering 2022. A list can be found below. \n[vc_button button_color=”color-152459″ border_width=”0″ link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.judoscotland.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2022%2F08%2FHotel-and-BB-List-Website.pdf|target:_blank” button_color_type=”uncode-palette” uncode_shortcode_id=”187892″ icon=”fa fa-cloud-download2″]Accommodation List[/vc_button] \n  \n[vc_button button_color=”color-574589″ border_width=”0″ link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fjudoscotland.justgo.com%2FWorkbench.mvc%2FShow%2F6%3Fref%3D81A5B3B3E066EE7FB8460C6035D7F56D01CCD7C5|target:_blank” button_color_type=”uncode-palette” icon=”fa fa-ticket2″ uncode_shortcode_id=”522127″]Book Your Space[/vc_button]
