Entries are now open for the 2025 Scottish National Closed Championships, one of the most anticipated events on the Scottish judo calendar. Taking place at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, this prestigious competition brings together judoka from across the country to compete for the coveted title of Scottish Champion.
This year marks a significant step forward in inclusivity, with the introduction of a Veterans category, a welcome addition that reflects our commitment to making the event accessible and representative of the Scottish judo community.
Date: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November 2025
Venue: Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facilities, 1 O’Donnell Way, Motherwell, ML1 2TZ



The Scottish National Closed Championship is intended to provide judoka with an appropriate level of competition. This event is suitable for those that are at the progression (minors and pre-cadets), developing athletes (cadets & seniors) and athletes stage (seniors) within the JudoScotland Player Development Framework. Please speak to your club coach before entering to ensure this event is suitable for you.
Event Schedule:
Saturday 8th November: Minor, Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior and Senior
Sunday 9th November: Veteran
Please note that this event is now fully booked. There are limited spaces left for Veterans on Sunday 9th November – If you’d like to compete in the Veterans category, please contact the office on 0131 333 2981 as soon as possible to secure your spot.

If a player is entering into Cadet & Junior or Junior & Senior, Senior & Veteran their weight will be carried forward,
Warm up area is situated on the running track for your use, please make sure that you keep update on running order of the through telegram.
Car parking spaces fill very quickly, please do not park on the street as you will get a ticket.

Facilities on site: Ravenscraig have a small Café selling teas, coffees, hot and cold food.
Cash machine: There is no cash machine on the premises.
Referees and Officials, please remember that all our referees and officials are volunteers and without them our events could not run, please treat them with respect. If you have any queries about any of our volunteers, please come and see me.
