Protect clean sport

We all have a responsibility to protect clean sport.

As the sportscotland recognised governing body for Judo in Scotland, JudoScotland takes its responsibility to anti-doping seriously. Every athlete has the right to compete in a sport where all athletes are clean, we work closely with British Judo, UKAD and sportscotland to ensure that the integrity of the sport is protected.

Anti-Doping Rules

In accordance with the JudoScotland Articles of Association, JudoScotland members are bound to the Rules of the Sport and all rules of the BJA, which includes the BJA and IJF anti-doping rules.

For the full BJA policy for anti-doping and supporting information please visit their Anti-Doping Resource here.

We also encourage all athletes, parents and coaches to visit the UKAD website for all the latest information on UK anti-doping.

Prohibited Lists

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published its 2023 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods.
Whether you’re an athlete or Athlete Support Personnel, it’s vital you are aware of the changes, so you don’t get caught out and end up with a ban from sport.
UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) will be providing further information in October on the major changes to the 2023 List. The List will come into effect on 1 January 2023.
