National Squad

The JudoScotland National Squad aims to support currently active competitive junior and senior judoka by providing access to appropriate additional training and competition environments and experiences.

Entry Process

Judoka who have medalled at the Scottish National Senior Closed Championship, British Junior Championships or British Senior Championship or those with Top 7 placings at International Tour Events will be invited to be part of the National Squad.

Judoka transferring from Cadet to Junior with Cadet International Tour match wins will also be invited to join the National Squad.

Some National Squad judoka may be identified for additional support through the SIS performance potential or SIS performance programmes.

Programme Expectation

Judoka will make themselves available to compete in the Scottish National Championships, Scottish Open & for Scotland in the National Team Championships wherever possible.

Support Provision

Judoka can access, free of charge, all programme sessions at the JudoScotland National Training Centre (NTC).

Judoka are encouraged to attend National Randori at the JudoScotland NTC or be based at a recognised performance daily training environment.

Judoka are encouraged to be gaining 5+ sessions of judo per week through a combination of club, regional & national sessions.
