We are delighted to announce that the JudoScotland National Closed Championship 2026 will return to Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2026.
Building on the success of the 2025 event, including the very positive introduction of the Veterans category, this year we are excited to expand our commitment to inclusive judo even further. The 2026 Championships will feature both Adapted and VI categories, widening opportunities and strengthening our vision for a sport that is truly accessible to all.
We are also excited to share that following changes to the qualification process for the British Schools Championship, participation at the Scottish National Closed Championship 2026 will serve as a British Judo Association Regional Schools qualifying event for the British Schools Championship 2027.
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and positive competition environment, to align with other Home Nation events and recommendations from the BJA, we have introduced minimum grade requirements for each category.
With 2026 set to be an exciting year for Scottish sport, there’s no better time to get involved!

The Scottish National Closed Championship is intended to provide judoka with an appropriate level of competition. This event is suitable for those that are at the progression (minors and pre-cadets), developing athletes (cadets & seniors) and athletes stage (seniors and veterans) within the JudoScotland Player Development Framework. Please speak to your club coach before entering to ensure this event is suitable for you.
